COPS Monitoring recently announced the promotion of Nicole Black to Executive Vice President of Finance.

Nicole joined COPS Monitoring nearly a decade ago as Accounting Manager and quickly distinguished herself with her professionalism, expertise, and adaptability. In a short time, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Finance, followed by her elevation to Vice President of Finance in 2020. At every stage of her tenure, Nicole has proven her value to the organization by tackling new challenges and delivering meaningful results.

Her leadership in this area was pivotal, as navigating varied and often complex state regulations is not only a matter of legal necessity but also essential to fostering satisfied employees, an important driver of the exceptional service that COPS Monitoring delivers to its customers.

Nicole has consistently stepped up in times of need, including taking on critical projects to cover the unexpected absence of another executive. She also led a significant upgrade of backend systems, including the successful implementation of NetSuite, which increased efficiency and strengthened cost controls. These initiatives have helped COPS Monitoring maintain its position as a leader in delivering world-class monitoring services at competitive rates.

In her new role as Executive Vice President of Finance, Nicole will oversee strategic initiatives designed to further enhance COPS Monitoring’s financial infrastructure, including advancing dealer billing processes and optimizing collections systems. Her efforts will focus on streamlining operations, leveraging advanced financial tools, and simplifying processes. These initiatives are designed to make it even easier for dealers to do business with COPS and support the company’s continued growth.

“Nicole has been instrumental in our growth and stability over the past decade,” said Jim McMullen, President of COPS Monitoring. “Her leadership, professionalism, and ability to embrace challenges have made her a trusted executive. This promotion not only recognizes her many contributions but also paves the way for other leaders within our organization to advance as she contributes to mentoring the next generation of executives.”

Nicole’s promotion further strengthens the company’s executive leadership team, creating opportunities across the organization and ensuring that COPS Monitoring is positioned for continued growth and success.

Before joining COPS, Nicole established a strong foundation in finance and accounting that continues to benefit the organization today. A graduate of Shippensburg University, she launched her career at KPMG LLP, one of the world’s Big Four accounting firms, where she developed the technical expertise and discipline that have guided her success. She then broadened her experience at Susquehanna International Group (SIG), a global investment trading firm, and at Comcast Corporation, where she held management roles in both accounting and finance. Nicole is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), credentials that underscore her professional excellence. She has also been recognized within the security industry as a rising leader, further demonstrating her influence and impact.
